The final countdown

After a long and difficult morning it was wonderful to hear the irreverent and very big picture provided by Renfrew Christie. It was an aspirational address and something for us all to aspire to.

It is just as well that we are all going home tomorrow - I am running out of clothes I can fit into!

Epiphany

I suddenly woke up at 2 o'clock in the morning and realised that although it is wonderful to have young Librarians in our midst - I was in a unique position as an established Librarian at the Library Academy. In order to take back interesting controversial ideas back home and inject them into our everyday working lives my confidence and maturity will certainly work in my favour!

A spot blogger

I am the newest blog on the spot. In fact I feel very much on the spot and very challenged.

So far I have thoroughly enjoyed the Library Academy with lots of interesting speakers and many interesting discussion often erupting from these. Just as I think I have it all arranged in my head a new speaker throws me totally out by talking about new theories which are in total contrast to those we have now bought into. It would be nice to have some kind of space where we can talk about the different social theories and how our ideas fit in.
